NYPD detectives this week reached out to south Queens for help in identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection with the theft of a firearm belonging to a federal agent last month in a Lindenwood parking lot.
According to police reports, on Thursday, Oct. 26, around 5 p.m., the suspect broke into a 2016 Ford truck parked inside the street-level lot of LA Fitness gym and removed a lime green and black Nike gym bag containing: a Sig Sauer DAK-229 .40-caliber handgun (serial number 558035604) and several clips; a pair of Smith & Wesson handcuffs; and a U.S. Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service ID and badge featuring the number 780.
The suspect is described as a black man who was wearing a royal blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers at the time of the incident.
