Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) recently donated turkeys and helped the Broad Channel Veterans of Foreign War Post 260 serve veterans from St. Albans at the VFW facility on Shad Creek Road.
According to the assemblywoman, the Broad Channel VFW served the vets homemade sweet potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, and, of course, turkeys—all donated by area residents.
“Every day we must thank those men and women who bravely served to protect our freedoms and way of life,” Pheffer Amato added. “I’m grateful to the Broad Channel VFW for organizing this event, and for doing everything they can to help serve those who served our country.”
