The fire broke out around 1 a.m. on Christmas morning.

A stubborn borough blaze on Christmas day left several families homeless, according to City Fire Department officials and published reports. The all-hands inferno erupted around 1 a.m. on Monday on the second floor of a house on 114th Street in Richmond Hill. At least two people were injured in the fire. They were rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
“The firefighters responded really quickly. I saw them pull out a man. He looked unresponsive,” a neighbor who lives across thфe street told the New York Post. “It’s sad. It’s a Christmas tragedy.”
As of Wednesday, FDNY fire marshals were still investigating the blaze.
