Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) on Monday presented a ceremonial check to Queens Library President and CEO Dennis Walcott for $100,000 to be used at system’s Howard Beach branch.
The funding was secured by Pheffer Amato this past legislative session and will be used for necessary exterior and interior upgrades of the 156th Avenue building.
“In Albany, I am not only a proud supporter of our libraries here in Queens but I also fought tooth and nail to increase funding for the vital resources they provide throughout New York State,” Pheffer Amato said. “I thank President Walcott for his continued commitment to our libraries and I am extremely proud to have secured funding for our Howard Beach branch!”
