Alleged Pimp Charged with Rape, Sex Trafficking

A 40-year-old pimp from Jamaica, Queens, has been arraigned on a multi-count indictment charging him with rape, sex trafficking, robbery and other crimes for allegedly pimping out a 25-year-old woman.
DennisHodges forced the woman to turn over all the money she made having sex with strangers between November 1, 2018 through December 1, 2018.
“The defendant in this case is accused of profiting from prostitution by pimping out a young woman. I want to emphasize that prostitution is not a victimless crime and that sex trafficking is an incessant act of brutality. This young woman was allegedly raped, abused and had money stolen from her.,” said DA Brown.
Hodges, of 109th Avenue was arraigned before Acting Queens Supreme Court Justice Gia Morris on a nine-count indictment charging him with first-degree rape, sex trafficking, first- and second-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
Justice Morris set bail at $500,000 bond or $300,000 cash and ordered the Hodges to return to court on January 15, 2019. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
In November a 25- year-old woman left her mother’s home and encountered the defendant, who offered her a place to live. The victim began engaging in prostitution. Hodges forced her to turn over all the money she made on sex dates with strangers to him. On December 1, 2018, the victim was allegedly struck several times by the defendant, searched for cash and had $40 taken from her.
