Jamaica Man Charged in November Shooting Death

Murder charges have been filed against 33-year-old Queens man in connection with a fatal shooting that followed a dispute on November 3.
Lhosni Colot, 33, of 164th Street, in theJamaica section of Queens was also charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Colot is charged in the shooting death of 22-year-old Tymel West after the two men had a verbal altercation on a Jamaica street around 10:50 p.m. Moments later, Colot shot the 22-year old in cold blood.
West was rushed to the hospital by private means but succumbed to his injuries.
“A young man’s life was cut short as a result of a senseless dispute that ended in gun violence. The defendant is alleged to have committed a cold-blooded murder on a residential street in Jamaica, Queens. He now faces a lengthy term of incarceration.”
Queens Criminal Court Judge David J. Kirschner on a complaint charging him with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Colot was immediately remanded to custody.
His next court date is January 3, 2019.
If convicted, Colot faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
