Everbody was Italian, for at least a few hours on Sunday, as Howard Beach residents gathered at Our Lady of Grace Church hall for a free Columbus Day celebration sponsored by State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach).
The event featured traditional Italian eats, face-painting for the kids, and live music by Vittorio Di Carlo, “The Graceful Tenor.”
Addabbo said he wanted to throw a “great party where everyone from seniors to families with their children can come out and listen to Italian music, have some delicious food, and have an overall good time.”
Mission: accomplished.
