Count Your Blessings

Count Your Blessings

You’ve heard us discuss the drawbacks of Facebook and other social media platforms before, but once in a while something comes across that merits our attention. We got this from friend and client Carolyn Defalco and honestly could not think of something more worthy of sharing especially in the holiday season. Thanks for thinking of us Carolyn. Now we hope all of you will read and remember this…

Through the eyes and laughter of a child we are reminded of just what this season is all about. Just because we are older doesn’t mean we no longer have to believe in its magic. So even for a moment look back in your heart and mind and remember the peace and joy you felt long ago, because if you allow it, it will fill your heart once again.

I you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of the world

If you have money in the back, cash in your wallet or spare change in a dish around the house, you are among the top 8 % of the worlds wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with mire health than illness you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced he dangers of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. ‘If you can attend a church meeting without fear or harassment, torture or death, you are more blessed than 3 billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive or still married you are very rare even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug him or her, hold him or her or even touch them on the shoulder, you are blessed because you can offer a healing touch.

If you can read this message you just received a double blessing.  That someone was thinking about you and furthermore you are more blessed than over two billion people n the world that cannot read at all.

Have a good day. Count your blessings and pass this along to someone else to remind them of just how blessed we all are.

On behalf of everyone at The Forum we wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed holiday season!
