The 106th Precinct has issued a Community Alert regarding a recent uptick in rim and tire thefts in South Queens neighborhoods.
While perpetrators seemingly prefer the wheels of late model Honda Accords and Civics, all car owners have been encouraged to: purchase lug-nut locks; remove the wheel-lock key from the vehicle; turn your wheels to the right or left when parked; and, if possible, try to park the car in well-lit areas near cameras.
