The Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday celebrated 115 years of service at its Officer Installation Dance at Broad Channel American Legion.
“The Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department has been an institution in Broad Channel for over 115 years, and the volunteers truly embody the meaning of community—the women and men volunteer their time to protect their neighborhood at any moment,” said Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (pictured here with BCVFD officers and former Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder, far l.). “Congratulations to all of the officers that were installed and thank you to all of the members of the VFD that help keep Broad Channel safe!”
