Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) earlier this month distributed hundreds of masks, gallons of hand sanitizer, and information about the 2020 Census throughout communities in the 23rd Assembly District. The materials were handed out to residents at Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary church in Ozone Park, St. Mary’s Star of the Sea church in Far Rockaway, the Food Pantry in Far Rockaway, and at a census sign up event in Bayswater.
“As churches, temples, mosques and other houses of worship open more in Phase Three, I want to make sure I’m doing my part to help people participate,” Pheffer Amato (at l. in photo) said. “Additionally, it was great to partner with the Rockaway Nassau Safety Patrol to go to undercounted communities in my district and talk about the census—we need to get counted to make our voices heard!”
