New Signs Target Bad Habit

New Signs Target Bad Habit

Area cops have been installing Vehicle Theft Warning Signs across the communities of the 106th Precinct with the hope that they’ll make a difference.

For years now, South Queens Crime Prevention officers have been imploring residents to adhere to basic crime awareness tips, including: Do not, under any circumstances, leave your car running and unoccupied—regardless of how quickly you plan on returning to it. And never leave personal property in your vehicle. Always lock your doors and remove cell phones, laptops, pocketbooks, and extra key fobs from inside of vehicles.

Cops are looking to the caution signs, which indicate that an auto was stolen at that site, as another deterrent tool in their crime-prevention belts.
