A construction crew on Monday afternoon discovered a skeleton in the basement of an abandoned Richmond Hill building on Jamaica Avenue near 120th Street.
The Office of the Chief Medical examiner has confirmed that the skull and bones are human.
The building has been vacant “for decades” according to the New York Daily News. Multiple City Department of Buildings violations have not been resolved.
