Officer Vincent Siraco was named Cop of the Month at the 106th precinct last week for his outstanding efforts in the pursuit and capture of the suspect arrested in the brutal beating of off-duty police Sgt. Mohammed Deen last month.

Officer Siraco was patrolling the area around 4:40 a.m. in the vicinity of Liberty Avenue when he and his partner observed the suspect as the beating was occurring. He fled on foot as Officer Siraco jumped out of the car and began chasing after him.

During the chase a civilian in a van saw what was going on and cut the suspect off with his vehicle, thereby slowing him down enough to have the police catch up with him. Officer Siraco chased the suspect down and finally apprehended him without further incident.

He was appointed to the midnight conditions team which is known to e comprised of the finest officers in the command.

PO Siraco is no stranger to the precinct, his father Mike Siraco was stationed at the precinct during the late ‘80s and ‘90s and is now retired from the job.
