More Vendor Jobs Coming to Aqueduct

Thanks to a new agreement between the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and Resorts World Casino New York City, nearly 150 new full-time positions were created for at the Aqueduct racino.

Resorts World, which is scheduled to open later this year at the Ozone Park racetrack, will now operate the food and beverage venues on the racetrack. In addition to the more than 1,000 casino jobs available, the total number of permanent positions is now 1,291.

“The partnership we have with NYRA is made even stronger by this new collaboration,” said Michael Speller, president of Resorts world. “Together we are committed to creating an extraordinary entertainment experience in Queens and to improving the neighborhood we call home.”

The project had gained the support of many local officials and groups including state Senator Joe Addabbo (D-Howard Beach) and Community Board 10 Chair Betty Braton because it could renovate and revitalize the racetrack. The agreement was just another step in that process, NYRA officials said.

“We are thrilled to continue working with Resorts World to improve our racetrack and our community,” said Charles Hayward, NYRA president and CEO. “This is an exciting transformation for a Queens institution and we are happy to offer our visitors—old and new—an enhanced racing experience along with much-needed employment opportunities.”

Resorts World is currently accepting applications for permanent positions. More information can be found at rwnewyork.com.
