Build It Back Case Workers to be Stationed in Ulrich’s, Richards’ Offices

Following an announcement that Build It Back case workers would be setting up shop on a weekly basis in the offices of Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder (D-Rockaway Park) and state Sen. Joe Addabbo Jr. (D-Howard Beach), two more Queens lawmakers announced the city officials would be working from their workplaces to assist residents struggling to receive much-needed financial aid after being devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Councilmen Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park) and Donovan Richards (D-Laurelton) said the Build It Back employees will be stationed in their Rockaway district offices. Residents can schedule an appointment or walk-ins are welcome during set hours.

“The number one complaint received by my office are issues with the Build It Back program,” Ulrich said. “Having a representative from BIB in our offices will help our constituents get quicker and more accurate answers, and I urge residents to take advantage of the extra help.”

Richards too encouraged individuals to reach out for assistance.

“As we continue on this road to recovery, I want our constituents to know that there is a place right at home which they can come to for the Build It Back services they need,” Richards said.

Case workers will be at Ulrich’s office at 115-06 Beach Channel Dr. in Rockaway Park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, or by appointment. For more information, call (718) 318-6411.

The Build It Back officials will be in Richards’ office at 15-26 Central Ave. in Far Rocakway from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, or by appointment. For more information, call (718) 471-7014.

Additionally, Addabbo announced this week that, due to an overwhelming community response, Build It Back program workers would be in his district office at 159-52 102nd St. for a full day every Wednesday, beginning June 25.

The hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“The heavy flow of constituents coming for these individual Build It Back appointments really confirms what we already knew – our people still need help,” Addabbo said. “By expanding this service to a full day, we hope to really cater to each and every person’s issues.”

To make an appointment at Addabbo’s office, call (718) 738-1111.
