The Woodhaven Business Improvement District hosted area families, the Woodhaven Residents’ Block Association, and elected officials Friday evening at the annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony on Forest Parkway near Jamaica Avenue.
The intersection was co-named “Maria Thomson Way” in October in honor of the long-time Woodhaven BID executive director, and civic activist, and advocate. The BID’s new leader, Raquel Olivares (second from l.), was all smiles on Friday as she helped Woodhaven ring in the 2018 holiday season.
