The case of the sinking Lindenwood street corner seems to have been solved.
City Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park) recently responded to the concerns raised by the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic Association regarding the northeast corner of the intersection of 157th Avenue and 79th Street, which has become danger to pedestrians and motorists alike.
“We are thrilled to report that Council Member Eric Ulrich is allocating $1.5M in the upcoming capital budget” to repair the asphalt that seems to be sinking around the corner catch basin, the civic posted on Thursday to its Facebook page.
The organization also noted that City Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Vincent Sapienza, P.E. was “extremely helpful” in getting approval for the drainage improvement project from the Office of Management and Budget and the Department of Transportation.
