Cops Nab Queens Boulevard Bank Robber

Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for the rash of bank robberies along Queens Boulevard in February.

Sidney Williams, a 43-year-old of Knickerbocker Avenue in Brooklyn, was charged this week with robbery in the third degree and attempted robbery in the third degree.

Police believe Williams is responsible for hitting three Chase banks along Queens Boulevard.

The attempted robbery was at a Sunnyside branch on Feb. 14 at 47-11 Queens Blvd. where he passed the teller a note demanding money and then fled when he received none.

He also allegedly completed two robberies of Chase banks on Queens Boulevard, one in Rego Park at 95-38 Queens Blvd. on Feb. 3 and one in Forest Hills at 104-17 Queens Blvd on Feb. 23.

Prosecutors also allege he used a note to rob a Capital One Bank on Jamaica Avenue.
