Forest Hills Rapist Hit Again on June 22

In his fourth attack identified so far, police say a suspect tried to rape another woman on June 22 in the same pattern he has used since his first attack on May 19.

The crime, along the border of the 112th and 110th precincts, is in the same general area suspect Ibrahima Ragis’ three other alleged sexual assaults took place.

Police say Ragis and another unidentified suspect approached a woman walking in front of 97-11 Horace Harding Expressway at about 2:30 a.m.

The unidentified man came up behind her and sexually abused her before the victim—a 20-year-old hispanic woman—hit him with a shopping cart she had been walking with.

Ragis then ran up to the victim, threw her to the ground and attempted to rape her, police say, but the victim fought back and Ragis fled. The victim was then treated at a nearby hospital for bruises and lacerations.

Ragis is suspected of previously sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman on May 19 at 3:29 a.m., sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at 3 a.m. on May 28 and robbing a 22-year-old woman at 2:37 a.m. on June 3.

A police source previously told The Forum that they almost captured Ragis during a foot chase some time after his third attack. The source also said police had tripled patrols in the area where all the attack took place—near the Horace Harding Expressway on the boarder of the 112th and 110th precincts.

Police, however, never publicly released locations for any of the attacks in the 112th Precinct.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.

All calls are strictly confidential.
