Valentine’s Day was a real smash this year at the Ridgewood Older Adult’s Center. A party was held at the center with almost two hundred seniors in attendance. Attendees were treated to some great music, lunch, chocolates and a lot of dancing. The Queens borough Democratic Club led by its founder, President Etienne David Adorno organized and sponsored he event held on Saturday, February 16th.
Everyone had a great time especially senior citizen, Zach Kuchen, who said “The food was good. The dancing was good. I hope they have it next week!”
Organizer Adorno said, “We wanted to make sure that they [the seniors] weren’t forgotten on Valentine’s Day, especially on a holiday when a lot of them, who may be widowers may be down.”
Tropical Restaurant of Ozone Park donated the food served at the lunch. Local organizations and merchants donated gift bags for the seniors to take home, filled with colognes, other toiletries and chocolates.
Jacqueline Eradiri, Executive Director of the Center, said “We all really had a good time today. The seniors are now spoiled. They told me they want them to throw parties all the time now!”
