A man was slashed outside a restaurant in Richmond Hill on Saturday evening after a dispute that began inside and spilled out onto the street.
Police say Ameeer Hoosain, a 38-year-old male Indian, was slashed by an unidentified male at the Red Robin Restaurant at 110-16 Liberty Avenue during a dispute around 9:45 P.M.
Fighting broke out inside the restaurant with the perpetrator arguing with other patrons inside and causing damage inside the eatery before going out onto the street where he proceeded to attack Hoosain.
Witnesses say the man was extremely agitated and withdrew a large kitchen knife from a back pack he was carrying. He proceeded to go after the victim, striking him with the knife on the top of the head.
The man then fled the scene in a northbound direction on 111th Street. Precinct are still searching for him.
The victim was removed to Jamaica Hospital where he was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.
