Jamaica Man Sentenced to Prison for Sexually Abusing Young Girls

A Jamaica man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for having sexual contact with two 7-year-old girls in South Ozone Park last year, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Lee Samuel, 26, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree criminal sexual act and first-degree sexual abuse, the DA said. He appeared Monday before Acting Queens Supreme Court Justice Elissa Koenderman, who imposed a sentence of 14 years in prison and 20 years’ post-release supervision.

“The defendant has admitted to being a sexual predator, and, as such, he has proven himself to be a threat to children and a clear and present danger to society in general,” Brown said in a prepared statement. “The lengthy sentence imposed by the court is more than warranted and punishes the defendant for his crimes.”

Samuels admitted that he approached one of his victims from behind, as she was tying her shoe on the sidewalk, and touched her on the buttocks, Brown said. Several hours later on the same day – May 1 – he approached his second victim and exposed himself, the DA said. Samuel then grabbed her and engaged in a sexual act with her, according to Brown.
