For individuals 50 years of age or older who are struggling to find employment, there will be a job fair for seniors on Friday, May 30 at the Queens Community House in Kew Gardens from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Queens Community House is located at 80-02 Kew Gardens Rd.
Sponsored by state Sen. Joe Addabbo Jr., the job fair will include companies catering to an older demographic. Anyone who is 50 years old or older is welcome to attend the event. Representatives from Family Aides Inc., the state Department of Labor, the YWCA City of New York Women’s Empowerment Program, and the Joseph P. Addabbo FAmily Health Center, among others, will be on site to discuss full-time and part-time job opportunities.
“Some people have lived full lives and now find themselves back at square one,” Addabbo said. “It’s not uncommon given the cost of living in the city that more and more seniors are looking for employment.”
