Participatory Budget Voting Dates Set

Council Member Eric Ulrich announced this week the final ballot and voting sites of Participatory Budgeting in the Community Board 9 Portion of New York City’s 32nd Council District. Voting will take place between April 6 and April 24.

Residents of Community Board 9 (Woodhaven, Ozone Park, and Richmond Hill) can vote for their top five projects to decide how $1 million in capital funding will be spent.

Education

1. $300,000 for Technology Upgrades at Local Schools: P.S. 90 Horace Mann, P.S. 97 Forest Park, P.S. 66 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, P.S. 306 NYC Academy for Discovery

2. $300,000 Auditorium Upgrade at P.S. 64. 82-01 101st Ave. (Ozone Park)

Parks and Recreation

3. $400,000 for Equity Park Improvements: Creation of a green space within Equity Park to include grass area, trees, pathways, and benches.

4. $175,000 Renovation of Forest Park Dog Park with new fencing, signage and benches.

Memorials and Public Space

5. $250,000 Refurbishment of 9/11 Memorial – Forest Park.

6. $240,000 for Lt. Clinton L. Whiting Square including installation of new stone pavers, enhanced landscaping, and benches.

Public Safety

7. $140,000 for Emergency Call Boxes throughout Forest Park to improve safety.

Cultural and Community Facilities

8. $200,000 Library Upgrades: for full interior renovations at Richmond Hill Library and for technology and security upgrades at Ozone Park Library.
