Jamaica Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking of Teen Girl

A Jamaica man last week pleaded guilty to forcing a 15-year-old girl he met at a bus stop into prostituting herself to earn him money in both June and July 2013, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Christopher Stephensbush, 22, copped to sex trafficking last Friday and will be sentenced to two-and-a-third to seven years in prison on June 16.

According to court records, Stephensbush met the victim in June 2013 as she was changing buses on her way to school. Stephensbush approached the girl, started talking to her, and then took her back to his apartment in Jamaica and held her there against her will for two days. The girl was told she could not leave until she earned money for him by prostituting herself. At one point the teenager tried to escape, but Stephensbush caught her and slapped her in the face. He freed her after she’d had sex with men for money.

A month later, however, Stephensbush was waiting for the girl at the same bus stop, told her he’d arranged two sex dates and forced her into selling herself again to earn him money.
