A dispute last Saturday night between sects of rival gangs started in Rockaway and ended with several arrests in Coleman Square, according to police.

A Manhattan-bound A train was held at the 159th Avenue-Coleman Square station for approximately 20 minutes as cops broke up a fight between factions of the Bloods and Crips street gangs that seems to have “started in the 101st Precinct in the Rockaways and spilled into the train,” said Deputy Inspector Jeff Schiff, commanding officer of the 106th Precinct.

Seven gang members were arrested “with knives and daggers,” Schiff added, at the Coleman Sqaure stop. No one was hurt.

This is the second time in the last six weeks that the Howard Beach station has made headlines. In July, a man leapt to his death in front of a northbound A train.
