Suspect Sought in Three Residential Burglaries

City Police Department detectives this week reached out to the public for assistance in locating and identifying a suspect wanted in connection with three residential burglaries in a four-day period in the 106th Precinct earlier this month.

On Saturday, Oct. 3, around 10 a.m., the suspect kicked open the basement door of a Lefferts Boulevard residence while a 36-year-old man was asleep inside the abode. He fled without removing any property, cops said.

On Monday, Oct. 5, around 3:10 p.m., the same suspect forcefully entered a Linden Boulevard house through a rear door and stole $250 cash. Detectives said no one was home at the time of the burglary.

And the next day, around 11:14 a.m., the burglar again entered through the rear of a 109th Avenue residence, but quickly fled through an open window after a 53-year-old woman inside the home spotted the suspect and threatened to call the police.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing a baseball hat, black sneakers, and a gray sweatshirt.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents are asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.

The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website: NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All correspondences are strictly confidential.

According to the latest available CompStat figures, burglaries are down in the 106th Precinct. Compared to this time last year, reported burglaries dipped to 166 from 192, a 14-percent decline.

Overall, major felony crimes in the southern Queens command are up a sliver—roughly 1 percent—compared to 2014. Murder, robbery, grand larceny, and grand larceny auto have increased marginally; while reported rapes, felony assault, and burglary are down.
