According to Addabbo, representatives from Birch Family Services will be at the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens, located at 110-04 Atlantic Ave., from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., to meet with job seekers and answer questions about the company’s openings.

Birch, a non-profit organization that serves the needs of people with disabilities, and co-sponsor of next Wednesday’s event, is looking to fill several education positions, Addabbo noted, including teaching assistants, certified teachers, 1 to 1 aides, and curriculum coordinators.

Birch will also be looking to hire maintenance workers.

“Every year, there is a tremendous demand for additional workers in the field of health services and companies that work with the disabled,” the senator said. “Birch Family Services is one of the best in their industry. When you provide such a wide variety of services, you have a wide range of jobs to offer to the people in your community with many different skill sets. This is an extremely unique opportunity for anyone looking for employment in education.”

Those who are interested in attending the hiring event are asked to fill out an online application prior to the function by visiting birchfamilyservices.org and selecting “Birch Careers” in the menu located on the left side of the screen. Attendees should also be prepared with many copies of their resumes on the day of the event.

For more information, call Addabbo’s office at (718) 738-1111.

“We all know how hard it is to find a job, and I am always happy to do anything I can to help make that even a little bit easier for someone,” Addabbo added.
