Cops Hunt for Brute Who Punched, Robbed 68-Year-Old Woman in Woodhaven

Investigators have said that they are trying to identify this man who is wanted in connection with the assault and robbery.

Police have reached out to the public for help in identifying the man in the photograph who is wanted in connection with a vicious robbery in Woodhaven.

According to police reports, the suspect last Wednesday approached a 68-year-old woman as she sat in her vehicle on Jamaica Avenue near 105th Street, punched her in the face and forcibly removed her cell phone, pocketbook containing $500 cash, and jewelry from her person. The man then fled in an unknown direction. The victim suffered minor injuries to her face, but refused medical attention at scene, cops said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet, and weighing roughly 220 to 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing gray jeans and a dark-blue hoodie.

The Crime Stoppers Program, which was initiated in 1983, offers rewards up to $2,000 for anonymous information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a violent felon.
