Plenty of food and fun every year at the Woodhaven Street Fair.

Organizers, vendors, and revelers could not have asked for better weather on Sunday for the annual Woodhaven Street Fair. Even the thunderous elevated trains couldn’t deprive thousands of attendees from basking under clear blue skies all along Jamaica Avenue.
One of South Queens’ signature fall kickoff events, the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation/Woodhaven Business Improvement District-sponsored celebration shuts down the thoroughfare to vehicular traffic from Woodhaven Boulevard to 85th Street, and fills the streets and sidewalks with food (festival fare and ethnic eats), rides (the bouncy castle is always a huge hit), pop-up shops, music, and much more.
