A 12-year-old boy and his 7-year-old cousin are safe and sound after several hours of self-induced anxiety gripped their South Ozone Park community Monday.
According to police and published reports, around 9 a.m. the boy surreptitiously swiped the keys to his parents’ white Range Rover, hopped in the luxury SUV and drove away from his 115th Street home (pictured) with his cousin riding shotgun.
The precocious youngsters made it all the way to a rest stop along the New Jersey-Delaware border before they were corralled around 2:30 p.m. after trying to cop some cookies with credit cards “borrowed” from relatives.
