The Howard Beach-Lindenwood Civic last week marked its final meeting of 2014, and the retirement of Margaret Finnerty from her position as family advocate for School District 27, with a holiday party at St. Helen Catholic Academy.
HBL Civic President Joann Ariola (r.) presented Finnerty, who is also the president of the Richmond Hill South Civic Association, with an Appreciation of Service Award from HBLC and all of the communities of Community Board 10.
“Margaret Finnerty is a model to be emulated, if you are a community leader or aspiring to get more active in your community,” Ariola told The Forum.
