Queens Borough President Melinda Katz recently welcomed about 50 recent City Police Department Academy graduates during an orientation session organized by NYPD Patrol Borough Queens South at the 107th Precinct stationhouse in Fresh Meadows.
The officers were among 434 new members of New York’s Finest who graduated from the College Point academy during a ceremony last month at Madison Square Garden, and have been assigned to work in various commands within Patrol Borough Queens South. Katz praised the cops for taking on what she characterized as the challenging job of serving and protecting the people of the borough and city and gave them some advice on getting to know the diverse communities of Queens.
