More than two-dozen members of the congregation of Howard Beach Assembly of God recently raised $4,000 for the New Beginnings Center of Hope free medical clinic in Jamaica.
More than 30 participants took to the track at Frank M. Charles Memorial Park Saturday for HBAG’s “Walk a Mile for Child” fundraiser. According to Pastor Stephen Roser, who walked 10 miles for the cause, his flock raised enough money to provide 100 ultrasounds at New Beginnings.
“I’m so proud,” the Rev. Roser told The Forum. “What incredible things can be accomplished when we get people organized.”
