Cops Search for Maspeth Bank Robber

Police are searching for a man who flashed a gun and used a threatening note to rob a bank in Maspeth on May 30.

They are asking the public to help them identify and locate the suspect.

At about 2 p.m. a man entered the Chase bank at 54-12 48th St. and handed the teller a note demanding money, according to police.

The note said the man was armed, and he revealed a silver and black firearm to the teller.

The bank employee complied and handed over an undisclosed sum of money.
The suspect then fled westbound on 54th Avenue. Police say the individual is a black man in his 40s, about 6 feet tall and around 180 pounds.

He was wearing a light blue shirt, jeans, a black baseball hat and sunglasses. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
